PhD Studentship: High Performance Computational Studies of Antibiotic Peptides

Applications are invited for a PhD Studentship, available immediately, to be held jointly the School of Chemistry and the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Nottingham to investigate novel antibiotic peptides using a variety of computational approaches, including molecular dynamics simulations. The project, which is funded as part of a new University "Interdisciplinary High Performance Computing" doctoral training centre, will be supervised by Professor Jonathan Hirst in Chemistry and co-supervised by Dr Boyan Bonev in Biomedical Sciences. It will provide a range of experience in large scale simulations, computer programming, and multiscale modelling. Students should have a first or upper second class degree in chemistry, physics or a closely related subject. Some experience in computer programming will be an advantage. Stipend and fees will be paid at the UK/EU rate. International students must pay the difference between EU and international fees. To apply, students should initially contact Professor Hirst, tel: 0115 951 3478 or Email: jonathan.hirst@nottingham.ac.uk , after which a formal application can be made via the University web site at: https://pgapps.nottingham.ac.uk . Closing date: available until filled.

To apply, please send your CV by email.
